L’application n° 1 des médecins impliqués dans la pratique des soins palliatifs. Une avancée considérable dans la gestion des douleurs cancéreuses et de leurs traitements spécifiques.
Par et pour les praticiens, au chevet de leurs patients.
A morphinic rescue dose, also called a breakthrough dose, is an additional dose of analgesics administered preferably to patients with cancer in the event of an attack of paroxysmal pain.
It is inseparable from the basic, around-the-clock, treatment with morphinics and its integration with this treatment is greatly facilitated by Orthodose®.
Rescue Dose, the only app of its kind, is however almost essential for practitioners in the treatment of breakthrough pain with opiates. Used by physicians since 2010.
Opioid Switcher is used to calculate equianalgesic doses for the different opioids used in palliative care. The oral, subcutaneous, intravenous, and transdermal administration routes are all covered. Dose reduction can also be calculated during this conversion operation. The list of opiates includes the following drugs: Morphine, Oxycodone, Hydromorphone, Tapentadol, Buprenorphine, Alfentanyl, Fentanyl, Sufentanil, Codeine, Tramadol, Dihydrocodeine, Pethidine, Hydrocodone, and Diamorphine. Our equianalgesia tool includes Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) ratios, making it a unique app for doctors. Methadone was recently included.
Mix&Match lets you check whether a combination of drugs in the same syringe is possible or not. It is a common practice in palliative care to administer treatment by means of a continuous infusion pump or by direct subcutaneous injections. However, not all combinations of drugs are authorised. With Mix&Match you are able to check the compatibility of a drug mix before preparing it. This new guide will be updated regularly.
Corticodose, the corticosteroid converter included in the Orthodose® app allows you to compare the mineralocorticoid potency of most glucocorticoids used in palliative care, such as for example methylprednisolone and dexamethasone. Corticodose provides you with information on the half-life and mineralocorticoid potency of each corticosteroid. It is free to use.
It is not customary to substitute one Benzodiazepine (BDZ) treatment for another. However, sometimes it happens that we are obliged to do this, particularly when switching from the oral to the subcutaneous administration route. Determining the substitution dose for the injectable form without appropriate information could prove dangerous for the patient. Benzo Switcher, a new tool, offers you a safer way to do this by using conversion ratios used by your peers and by informing you of the key points that are essential when making this substitution.
